BCHS blogs The Crucible: Figurative Language

1. Metaphor: Whenever he is fixing the soup cause evidently he does not think it's good enough. When John Proctor makes it clear that he is not happy with his marriage and he is angry with his wife.

2. Personification: Whenever the girls are in the woods doing witchcraft and telling about the spirits attacking them.

3. Hyperbole: Whenever they say that they hope they will tell the truth. Truth can not weigh you down physically but it definitely can emotionally.
